Your health data should remain yours

BALA's browser mode stores manual entries, Daily Factors behavior journal entries, and imported Apple Health summaries in local browser storage. The imported file is processed locally and is not uploaded.

Embedded coach

BALA’s embedded coach uses local rules and a small built-in wellness knowledge base. Questions, metric summaries, Apple Health exports, record history, names, emails, and device identifiers are not sent to an AI provider.

The current browser version does not turn on a cloud AI mode. If BALA ever adds an optional server-backed coach later, it must remain explicit, revocable, and limited to the minimum derived context needed for that answer. Raw Apple Health files and full record history should stay local.

Spoken replies use the device’s installed text-to-speech voices. Voice input uses the browser’s speech-recognition feature, which may process microphone audio through Apple, Google, Microsoft, or another browser service depending on the device. BALA does not store the recording.

Connected wearable services

Future HealthKit, Health Connect, Fitbit, Samsung Health, Oura, and Garmin connections must request the minimum permissions needed, retain source provenance, and provide deletion and revocation controls.

Safety

BALA provides health-awareness information based on supported body signals and optional Daily Factors reflections. These entries may help you notice patterns, but they are not medical advice. BALA is not a medical device or a substitute for professional medical care.

Use Clear local data inside BALA. Removing the installed app or clearing site storage also deletes browser-local BALA data, including manual check-ins, Daily Factors, imported summaries, and mood logs stored in this browser profile.
